Independent insurance agent work with a wide range of clients. Some clients are business customers that buy insurance on behalf of their company; others are individual clients or owners of companies or businesses who buy their own insurance policies on their own. A typical role of an independent insurance agent is to present themselves as an expert in their field. They generally carry a business card and an ID badge. When you are first starting out in this field, do not try to take on too much responsibility at once. Give your clients' referrals, do some research on your own, and get some training, and practice before you get started.
